Kamloops Arts Council’s Art Exposed Exhibition

The Kamloops Arts Council’s annual Art Exposed exhibition starts from the date of March 7 to 15, 2025. This event welcomes artists of every age to showcase their work, which can be in 2D or 3D mediums not limiting to other form of arts such as paintings, prints, drawings, jewelry, textiles, and photos. It will be a great time for both new and experienced artists to showcase their masterpieces with the community

TRU’s Indigenous-Inspired Art Project

TRU showcased a new art project in December 2024, which included four magnificent fox sculptures. These traditionally inspired sculptures based on Secwepemc narrative, are primary focused to connect the university community to Indigenous storytelling and culture.

By initiating and participating in these artistic events helps artists and newcomers who love arts sharpen their personal creativity. Furthermore, it improves the community relationships that make the Kamloops art scene unique and active. Challenges and Future of the Kamloops Arts Scene

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a lot of issues as well as challenges for the Kamloops arts community. Moreover, it includes falling audience numbers, increasing operational costs, personnel shortages, and reduced earnings. With the visualization of needing more arts and artistic places, that include new construction or refurbishing existing buildings. Kamloops has launched a strategic initiative, “You Are Here Kamloops Cultural 2024-2034,” to boost tourism, enhance arts infrastructure, support cultural workers, and eliminate barriers to arts participation through collaboration among local governments, businesses, and community members.
