The Lesser-Known Heavy Metal Scene in Kamloops

The heavy metal scene in Kamloops is up and coming, with local bands such as Burn It All showcasing their music live at the Blue Grotto.
The city of Kamloops is not without its musicians, with events such as Music in the Park displaying live performers every summer since 1994 and the Sagebrush Theatre often hosting performances. Rock and metal music is no different, with metal bands being founded in and around Kamloops and performing at the Blue Grotto year round.
The Blue Grotto, located downtown on Victoria Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue, is a nightclub known for its live music and the main place for fans of all kinds of rock and blues music to indulge in the local music scene. For those wanting to discover the metal bands of Kamloops, a performance by The Unending, a heavy metal band out of Kelowna, will be playing at the Blue Grotto alongside two Kamloops bands, Augur and Burn It All, April 6th.
Burn It All is a band that was founded in 2019, they have been performing live since 2021 and creating their own original music long before. The four-person band was brought together by Shawn Knippelberg, the lead singer and composer. Their music is a blend of heavy metal and rock, with songs featuring both singing and more harsh vocals.
